Today, some of the newest Minnesota Vikings took to the field at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in Eagan as the purple kicked off their rookie minicamp. Before the action got underway, however, three young men who were drafted by the Vikings a couple of weeks ago put pen to paper on their first National Football League contracts.
The three rookies that signed were the last three players the Vikings landed from the selection meeting: Alabama kicker Will Reichard, Wake Forest offensive lineman Michael Jurgens, and Texas A&M-Commerce defensive lineman Levi Drake Rodriguez. Terms of their rookie contract were not immediately made available by the team.
The other four draft picks that have not yet signed are participating in this week’s rookie minicamp under an injury waiver. I wouldn’t imagine that it would take a very long time for everyone to get their contracts signed, since the pay slots are basically already assigned, but we’ll see how long it takes for everyone to get there.
Overall, 45 players are participating in this week’s rookie minicamp, according to the Vikings. Here is the full list of them and how the Vikings came to acquire them.
