Tottenham Hotspur Are Hoping To Land This Serie A Forward: Good Choice For Ange?
In a recent report, Calciomercato stated that Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to land Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. It has been revealed that Spurs are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Serbian centre-forward this summer.
Vlahovic’s Good Run Of Form At The Allianz Stadium
Vlahovic had a decent campaign at the Turin club after he produced a string of productive displays as the focal point of their attack. The 23-year-old participated in 42 matches for Juve last season, scoring 14 goals and earning four assists in all competitions.
The Serbian forward led the line well for the Italian outfit by averaging 2.5 shots, 0.8 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. However, he was a bit sloppy when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half as he completed just 72.1% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Juventus will run out in the summer of 2026. Thus, it won’t be easy for Spurs to get him on board later this year.
Is Vlahovic A Good Choice For Tottenham Hotspur Head Coach Angelos Postecoglu?
Vlahovic can use his robust frame to create space for himself and is usually a reliable finisher in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. Standing at 1.90m, Vlahovic can also win his fair share of 50-50 aerial duels in the opposition half. However, he has to figure out a way to improve his productivity up top.
The Serbian talent can even create the odd chance for his teammates but needs to work on improving his link-up play on the attacking end of the field.
We can expect Vlahovic to bring more goals to Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu’s attack as long as he can make a smooth transition to life in English football. At 23, he has got a lot of room to grow as a footballer and would be a decent choice for Spurs to consider in this off-season.
Vlahovic is good enough to serve as an ideal backup to Harry Kane at the North London club. However, Postecoglu will have to be patient with his progress as he will need time to settle into life in the English capital.
