Toteham must win, Mark Lawrenson predicts result of must-win Leeds United clash v Tottenham Hotspur

Mark Lawrenson has made his prediction ahead of Leeds United’s must-win Premier League clash against Tottenham at Elland Road this weekend.

The Whites must claim all three points in the final game of the season to have any chance of survival, while also hoping for both Everton and Leicester to drop points in the process

But while making his predictions for Paddy Power (26 May), the former Match of the Day pundit admitted that while he expects the home team to “go all out” for the win he is predicting them to fall short and get beaten.

Tottenham are already on their holidays and their away form has been awful but Harry Kane will want to score and he’ll get opportunities against Leeds,” he said.

“I was going to go for a draw but Leeds have to win so they’ll go all out in the final 10 minutes and I think Spurs might do them. Leeds 1-2 Tottenham.”

There’s no excuses and nothing else to say, we simply have to win this game.

As Lawrenson said Tottenham are basically already on their holidays, as they have shown in their recent performances against the likes of Brentford.

It cannot be ignored that they have got bundles of top-level quality in their squad, including the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Dejan Kulusevski.

But we simply cannot afford to be scared and we have to use the energy of the crowd at Elland Road to our advantage to make a fast start and put them on the back foot.

If we can do that and get an early goal, or at leas the first goal like we did against Newcastle and West Ham then there is no reason why we can’t surprise people and get the win we need.

It may not be enough even with a win, but so long as we do our own job then at least we won’t be left with a huge “what if” feeling at the end of the game.
