The latest Tottenham Hotspur transfer news with updates on Harry Kane, Micky van de Ven, Alejo Veliz and the pre-season friendly with Barcelona!
Tottenham’s pre-season preparations are finally complete following a 4-2 defeat to Barcelona on Tuesday evening.
Now, attention turns to the Premier League with Ange Postecoglou taking his side to Brentford on Sunday afternoon.
Micky van de Ven and Alejo Veliz are now officially Tottenham players after their arrivals were confirmed by the club on Tuesday. Van de Ven joined from Wolfsburg in a £43million deal, while Veliz signed from Rosario Central after Spurs agreed to pay around £13million.
In an interview with SPURSPLAY upon his unveiling, Van de Ven revealed his delight at joining Spurs. The Dutchman said: “I know Spurs is a beautiful club, an amazing club, a top club in the Premier League. Those are the things I know.
“Every time I see a player sign for Spurs, I think, ‘wow, it would be amazing to sign for an amazing club like that’. I’m so excited to be part of the future of Spurs.”
Veliz said: “I’m coming here with a huge desire to do well. I’m totally on board and 100 per cent focused on the task in hand here. I’m really pleased and grateful to have my family here with me, they’re always with me. And I’m totally fulfilling a dream, coming here today to such a massive club, and I’ll be doing my best to grab my opportunity and hopefully everything will go as well as it possibly can.”
Bayern Munich have not given up in their transfer pursuit of Harry Kane with a fourth bid seemingly set to arrive in the coming days. Tottenham turned down the most recent £86million bid from Bayern, football.london understands, with a clear gap in valuation remaining.
Confidence still remains on the side of Bayern they can reach an agreement with Spurs for Kane and, through holding onto that belief, want to launch another improved offer for the 30-year-old. According to Sky Sports, the German champions are eyeing the possibility of sending a £94.6million proposal to Tottenham within the next few days.
