transfer updare : Leicester City make striker transfer ‘bid’ but face Ligue 1 competition

Leicester City have submitted a bid for Troyes striker Mama Balde, it is claimed.

The 27-year-old scored 12 goals in all competitions last season and has previously had spell at clubs including Dijon and Desportivo Aves in Portugal.

And now French journalist Sebastien Denis posted on X that the Foxes were set to bid for the Bissau-Guinean forward as they look to add some goalscoring prowess to their team. However, they are set to face competition from Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon).

He said: “Leicester City make a bid to Troyes Estac for the striker Mama Balde, they want to close the deal as soon as possible, Olympique Lyonnais is on the case as well and made also a bid.

It has been a busy summer at the King Power Stadium with new boss Enzo Maresca looking to shape a City squad in his image.

Leicester have so far signed seven players this summer. They include winger Yunus Akgun and Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei on loan, winger Stephy Mavididi, goalkeeper Mads Hermansen and centre-back Callum Doyle on loan from Manchester City, as well as centre-back Conor Coady from Wolves and midfielder Harry Winks from Tottenham.

The Foxes will be seeking an immediate return to the Premier League after being relegated in 2022/23. They currently sit top of the Championship after four games.
