Leeds’ interest in Kamara has been documented throughout the transfer window although there has been no movement on the deal until recently. It now appears that the deal may happen in the coming days.
The journalist spoke to GIVEMESPORT on 23 August, where he claimed: “I think Glen Kamara is an interesting one, too. I have heard that Leeds United’s enquiries are being stepped up around that one. So, there is some promise there. His representatives are working hard to find him a solution.
“He’s been talked about for a long time to leave Rangers, but it’s just never come about. I think the Championship would be a really good place for Kamara if he’s willing to take that step.
Leeds have been linked with a move for the Finnish midfielder through this summer’s transfer window, with the lack of movement on any deal starting to become a concern for fans of the Yorkshire club, before reports emerged again recently claiming a deal was set to be finalised.
Kamara’s situation at Rangers should not be a concern to Leeds fans. Despite being ostracised from the first team under Michael Beale, Kamara was once a fan favourite at Ibrox.
The midfielder played a key role as the club won the league under Steven Gerrard’s leadership in 2021, starting the majority of games and turning in performances of real quality. He is the type of midfielder that, when he’s ticking, he makes the game look simple.
Leeds were in desperate need of reinforcements in midfield even before Tyler Adams joined Bournemouth, so Kamara’s arrival will be very welcome at Elland Road as the club look to finish the transfer window strongly.
