Liverpool have been linked with Joao Palhinha, and the Anfield faithful will be encouraged to hear what Darren Bent made of the Fulham defensive midfielder’s performance against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Joao Palhinha, a player Liverpool reportedly want to sign in the summer transfer window, was in action for Fulham against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League today.
The Portugal international defensive midfielder was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park, imposed himself on the game, and made some important challenges.
And he scored in the 87th minute.
During his time on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium, Palhinha took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 81.8%, took 54 touches, and made six tackles, two interceptions and five clearances.
The Daily Mail reported this month that Liverpool want to sign Palhinha in the summer transfer window.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are reportedly looking for a new defensive midfielder and believe that the £50,000-a-week (Spotrac) star would be a good signing.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent was following the London derby between Arsenal and Fulham for Sky Sports on Saturday.
And he was impressed with Palhinha.
Bent said about Palhinha on Sky Sports News (4:56pm, August 26. 2023): “He has been absolutely outstanding for Fulham.”
