Transfer Update : Spurs confirm one more player departure despite transfer window closing soon….

Tottenham Hotspur has today confirmed that Harvey White has left the club to join League One side Stevenage on a permanent basis, with the move coming late on transfer deadline day.

Harvey White came through the academy at Tottenham and managed to make it all the way to the peripheries of the senior squad for the Lilywhites. Over his years at the club, White managed three first-team appearances for Spurs (Transfermarkt).

The young midfielder has gained his fair share of experience in League One already over the course of the last few years. White spent the 2021/22 season on loan with Portsmouth, and joined Derby County for the second half of last year, too.

With new manager Ange Postecoglou  coming to Tottenham this summer, there was always a chance that White could have pressed on and established himself in the Australian coach’s plans for the forthcoming campaign. However, the 21-year-old couldn’t find his way into the first team set-up again this year.

Harvey White leaves Tottenham permanently

The Sun even named White as one of the players that Spurs were open to selling this summer, but there had been very little word of the player finding a new club during the transfer window.

Amid the chaos of deadline day, a move to Stevenage transpired for White who now leaves behind his boyhood club in search of regular first-team football.

The club’s statement said: “We wish Harvey all the best for the future.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is a shame to see Harvey White leave as he was always a very hard-working and talented young player. Sadly, it seems he just wasn’t quite ready for the first team at Spurs, and so the decision was made to part ways in the interest of all parties.

We will be keeping a close eye on how he gets on at Stevenage, and hopefully, he can flourish now with more game time.
