Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that former Vikings receiver K.J. Osborn is inking a deal with the New England Patriots.
Over the past few seasons, Osborn, 26, has been the Vikings’ third-best receiver; however, in 2023, his output decreased. Osborn had at least 650 yards and five scores the previous two seasons; last season, he had 48 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns.
Osborn has 158 receptions for 1,845 yards and 15 touchdowns in his three years of NFL experience, all with the Vikings. During that time, he has also gained 16 yards on four carries.Osborn’s arrival in New England means that the Vikings will need to find a replacement for him at the No. 3 receiving position. The most likely candidate to cover that gap appears to be Brandon Powell, who in 2023 had the finest season of his career while playing more often in his debut season with the Vikings.
Powell, who saw his playing time increase over the course of the season, ended up with 29 receptions for 324 yards and a touchdown.
