Watford made a swift move to sign the young player to a long-term contract.

The Hornets’ development team will initially work with 19-year-old Clarridge.

It is verified on their website that he signed a deal that will last until the summer of 2025.

Clarridge has spent his entire playing career on the books at Nottingham Forest.

He progressed through The City Ground’s academy system and played regularly for the Reds at several youth levels. In 2021, the Premier League team offered him his first professional contract.

He didn’t play for Forest in a competitive first team, but he did play in the EFL Trophy for their Under-21 team.

Clarridge can now move on from Nuno Espirito Santo’s side and make a new beginning in Hertfordshire.

When Watford looks to make the playoffs in the Championship this year, he will be a player for the future.

Valerien Ismael, a former manager of Watford and Barnsley, was hired by the Hornets last summer, and he has since made an excellent impression at Vicarage Road.

They are three points outside of the playoffs and currently occupy the ninth spot in the standings. They are back in action this weekend at home against Cardiff City after drawing 0-0 away at Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the week.

Watford expanded their options at the top of the pitch in January by entering the transfer window and acquiring attacker Emmanuel Dennis. Additionally, they finalized Giorgi Chakvetadze’s loan transfer.

The two most notable departures were Rhys Healey, who went to Huddersfield Town, and Imran Louza, who went to FC Lorient.
