14-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant has become an investor in the Ligue 1 club, purchasing an undisclosed share.

Kevin Durant, the star forward for the Phoenix Suns and a 2024 Team USA Olympic gold medalist, has acquired a minority stake in Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), a prominent French football club. This investment marks Durant’s entry into the world of sports ownership beyond basketball. His involvement is expected to enhance his influence in the global sports arena and strengthen connections between the American and European sports markets. This move aligns with a broader trend where athletes diversify their portfolios by investing in various sports and franchises.

This isn’t Durant’s first investment in sports. The NBA star has a five-percent stake in MLS side Philadelphia Union, and is a minority owner of reigning NWSL champions Gotham.

His investment follows a surge of big-name NBA players getting involved in soccer. Lebron James invested in Liverpool back in 2012, while James Harden is a co-owner of Houston Dynamo. Retired legends Magic Johnson and Steve Nash have also invested in the sport – both at home and abroad.
