BBC pundit delivers verdict on Frank Lampard joining Rangers on Coaching Contract….

Danny Murphy has shared his view on former Everton and Chelsea manager Frank Lampard succeeding Michael Beale at Rangers.

Speaking on talkSPORT with Jim White and Simon Jordan, Murphy does not believe that this is an avenue Gers must pursue.

He also does not think that the fans will be behind the appointment of one of the best Premier League midfielders of all time.

The BBC pundit said, “I don’t think that’s a good move for either. I don’t think Rangers should be taking a risk at this point. The first thing you have to do is get someone who at least the fans are going to be on board with. If you bring in someone who they don’t support, you are climbing a mountain.

BBC have reported that Gers are considering Lampard, a manager who only got the Chelsea job the first time around because he was a legend at the club and had a good equation with the owner.

He didn’t prove he deserved the job and failed to get the best out of some exceptionally talented players at the club.

His stint at Everton was where his managerial might would be tested and he failed there as well and then on his return to Chelsea, ended up being the worst manager statistically since 2004.

Hopefully, the board does not go for the well-known names and actually make an appointment for someone who can make the team player a proper brand of football.

Even Giovanni van Bronckhorst appeared to be someone who was a former player and was the attainable option so they ended up going for him.

Lampard’s a manager who’s won just seven Champions League games out of 16 and the bar will be set really low if other candidates are compared to him.
