Lamb has positioned himself to be one of the NFL’s highest paid wide receivers
We can now examine what a Lamb extension would entail, as CeeDee Lamb is in the last year of his rookie deal and the Philadelphia Eagles wisely decided to extend their 25-year-old wide receiver DeVonta Smith a year early with a three-year, $75 million contract that includes $51 million guaranteed.
Notably, Smith had two years left on his rookie contract because he joined the NFL one year after Lamb. Before the contract formally starts, Smith will use his current rookie deal, which includes this season and his fifth-year option the following year. Thus, Smith’s contract effectively keeps him in Philadelphia until the 2028 campaign for the minimum of the next five season

Lamb’s current option payment for his fifth year is $17.991 million in 2024. The 25-year-old is expected to receive a MASSIVE salary from the Cowboys or through free agency since he is set to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2024 season. Given Lamb’s exceptional play since Oklahoma’s Josh Lamb was selected 17th overall, a bigger contract than Smith’s last one is anticipated.
