DEAL TERMINATED: LIVERPOOL’S MIDFIELDER DEAL TERMINATED

Liverpool have failed with a bid to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre and it could be a case of now or never.

Fluminense are standing firm on midfielder Andre Trindade having told Liverpool that he simply isn’t for sale right now.

That is according to ESPN, who claim that Liverpool have offered €30million (£25.5million) for Andre.

It’s stated that Liverpool are really keen to get Andre on board before the transfer deadline next week.

However, Fluminense have no intention of letting that happen due to their Copa Libertadores hopes.

Fernando Diniz’s side are into the quarter-finals and take on Paraguayan side Olimpia in their first leg this week.

The final doesn’t take place until November, so Fluminense want to keep hold of their star midfielder beyond the European transfer deadline.

Fluminense have allegedly told Liverpool that, even if they improve on that £25.5million bid, there will be no deal.

Similarly, Liverpool’s current stance is that they will not be returning for Amdre in the January window.

The Reds want a midfielder right now and if Fluminense won’t sell Andre, they are ready to move on to other targets.

Fluminense are in a strong position as Andre is under contract until December 2026, so Liverpool’s pursuit looks to be very difficult.

Andre wants Liverpool move but could miss out

This situation may be a little frustrating not just for Liverpool but for Andre himself.

Brazilian reporter Emmanuel Luiz has told The Redmen TV that Andre has told Fluminense that he wants to go to Liverpool.

Luiz claims that Andre has an agreement on personal terms with the Reds with Manchester United learning he wants a move to Anfield having registered an interest themselves.

Fluminense are laser-focused on winning the Copa Libertadores, which means a deal could be problematic.

The 22-year-old has excelled in a holding midfield role for Fluminense and would be seen as the ideal younger prospect to learn from experienced new signing Wataru Endo.

Both Liverpool and Fluminense need Andre right now though and that means a real stand-off over a potential deal – and if it doesn’t happen before next Friday, Liverpool may be ready to ditch their interest in the Brazilian.
