Due to health issues, announcer Ron Darling of the New York Mets is anticipated to take a leave of absence.
Two of Darling’s friends told USA Today’s Bob Nightengale that the former All-Star will make his departure known on Saturday.
Darling’s test results indicated a lump on his chest, according to SNY.tv (via Yahoo Sports’ Matt Ehalt). He may return to the Mets broadcast in May, though.
