It’s no news that, starting in the upcoming season, Kaizer Chiefs will have a new manager.
However, it appears that there are two things to know: who it will be and when the Chiefs will reveal their candidate.

The Chiefs have fired a coach in the beginning of five consecutive seasons. Naturally, then, a lot of attention will be focused on their next appointment. Gavin Hunt succeeded Ernst Middendorp, and Hunt in turn succeeded Stuart Baxter, who in turn succeeded Arthur Zwane. The club legend was replaced by Molefi Ntseki after he was unable to survive a second season.
The Chiefs’ quest for a new coach was short-lived, as veteran strategist Cavin Johnson soon took over, only to have a miserable tenure! The Chiefs had their worst-ever finish in team history in the final campaign, coming in at number ten. That put an end to whatever expectations he might have had to secure the permanent position of Amakhosi.
Early in the season, there were rumours circulating that the Chiefs intended to reveal their new coach prior to the conclusion of the league. Since then, Soccer-Laduma has provided a new window of time for the appointment.
“I believe the announcement will come considerably sooner than anticipated. This week will begin with the break, followed by the technical team’s report presentation and, hopefully, an announcement a week later. Generally speaking, the team may hire a new coach during the second week of June. I should say in two weeks. With regard to the coach, almost everything has been finished; only a few small issues have to be resolved at this time. However, they are operational in that field,” the insider stated.
The South African football community then eagerly awaits Chiefs’ appointment. They can’t afford to skimp on this appointment, that much is clear.
