Although Minnesota had made it known that they intended to sign Cousins again this year, they will now need to fill their quarterback room for the 2024 campaign.
Sam Darnold, a former first-round choice of the New York Jets who signed with the San Francisco 49ers, was the first to do that. He is not expected to be a long-term starter for the Vikings because he only signed a one-year contract with the team.
It appears that a plan is taking shape because the team has now acquired the Houston Texans’ 2024 first-round pick (number 24 overall), along with their 2024 second- and sixth-round selections (number 42 and 188), as well as a 2025 second-rounder, according to the NFL Network.
Right now, the Vikings are ranked 11th and 23rd overall.
