The Miami Heat lost badly on Wednesday night, losing 105-96 at the Kaseya Center to the struggling Memphis Grizzlies. The Heat are having a terrible time right now, especially offensively. They have lost five of their last seven games and are likely losing their worst game of the season because they haven’t scored 100 points in any of them.
After the team’s fourth straight defeat, Erik Spoelstra, the head coach of Miami, said that the team is in a “funky” part of the season that he “can’t even explain.” Spoelstra stated that in order to play better in the second half of the season, there will need to be some “fortitude” and “collective toughness” to overcome the mistakes made on both sides of the ball.”Right now, the NBA season is just having one of these weird moments. It’s no secret that Spoelstra enjoys nothing more than watching the Heat defeat opposing teams in the mud during those “ugly as heck” games. That was Wednesday, but despite a modest comeback in the fourth quarter, Miami struggled to overcome a slow first three quarters. The team tried to play the right way, but at times that gets them into “trouble,” he said after the game.
