Nottingham Forest look set to win the race to sign Victor Nelsson from Galatasaray this summer. The player has been the subject of interest from Tottenham this summer too.
According to Turkish outlet Aksam, the Reds are moving quickly to try and wrap this deal up. Nelsson will cost the Reds £16 million with a further £2 million coming in the way of add-ons.
The Danish defender has made 10 appearances for the national team and at just 24-years-old, he’s being tipped for a bright future in the game.
Forest target Nelsson has been with Galatasaray since 2021. He checked in from FC Copenhagen and before that, he played for Nordsjaelland.
The central defender has made 82 appearances for the Turkish outfit. Now, he could be preparing to leave the club; with Forest seemingly in pole position to sign him.
The Reds are in need of another central defender with the season now underway. Moussa Niakhate and Felipe are both out injured and that’s not good news.
Nelson has a wealth of experience, despite his tender years. Now, Forest will hope that these talks can prove positive and a deal can be struck and completed in time for next weekend’s game.
Nottingham Forest close to signing of Nelsson
The central defender is a player that could prove ideal for the Premier League. He’s useful on the ball and for a young man, he’s played a lot of games.
However, Forest have heard it all before this transfer window. The Reds will want to get this deal over the line before the fans can count their blessings
The Reds will hope to have someone in place before next Friday night. It’s getting pretty desperate for the Reds and their recruitment this summer just haven’t been sufficient enough.
Nelsson could prove to be a very good signing for the Reds. He’s at a nice age where he could still improve and he looks like a very strong defender that could help the Reds considerably.
