Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news as Reds receive a setback in chase for Marvin Ducksch of Werder Bremen – and it seems Newcastle United are out in the cold too
Nottingham Forest have been dealt a blow in their reported pursuit of Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch.
The 29-year-old has scored five goals and assisted in another three in 11 Bundesliga matches so far this season, attracting the attention of Forest. Premier League rivals Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest.
Reports in Germany on Wednesday claimed Forest are “very keen” on the striker, with Bremen potentially open to a €15 million (£13m) approach in January. That has now been shot down by the German club’s sporting director Clemens Fritz.
Speaking to German newspaper Bild after the initial transfer reports, Fritz made Bremen’s stance clear. He said: “A winter transfer is not an option for us.”
