Borna Barisic will reportedly discover today whether or not he’ll be available to face Sparta Prague this week.
The Rangers defender hobbled off against Hibs in their 4-0 win this weekend after just 12 minutes leaving manager Phillipe Clement with a potential headache for Thursday evening. The Light Blues travel to the Czech Republic for the Euro tie and could do so without the Croatian as doctors assess the severity of the injury.
That would be a blow to the Ibrox outfit who would be without Ridvan Yilmaz after former boss Michael Beale failed to register the Turkish left-back in the Euro squad for this season.
It would mean the likes of Adam Devine or Dujon Sterling would be forced to deputise in an unnatural position albeit both have played on the left-hand side of the defence for the club in the past.
Centre-back by trade, Ben Davies, can also play on the flank and would be an option after sitting on the bench for the Hibs victory in Glasgow.
Manager Clement said: “The downside for me is that I see a player falling out after 10 minutes and I see other players who have struggled to play 90 minutes also. So there are still several players injured or coming back out of injury. So that’s going to be also a main task together with the performance staff to get everybody at their best level, their best physical level to produce this kind of games and better every three days.
