Breaking News:Sooners added another four-star running back Tory Blaylock to 2025 class

The Oklahoma Sooners have bolstered their 2025 recruiting class with the addition of four-star running back Tory Blaylock from Atascocita High School in Houston, Texas. Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 190 pounds, Blaylock is renowned for his exceptional speed and versatility on the field.

Blaylock’s commitment to Oklahoma was highly anticipated, as he chose the Sooners over a plethora of offers from prestigious programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Texas, and Oregon. His decision was influenced by the strong relationships he built with the coaching staff, particularly running backs coach DeMarco Murray, a former NFL Offensive Player of the Year. Blaylock expressed admiration for Murray, stating, “He has been where I want to be, and he knows what it takes to get there.”

On the field, Blaylock has demonstrated his prowess as a dynamic playmaker. In his junior season, he amassed 616 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, complemented by 19 receptions for 268 yards and three receiving touchdowns. His performance earned him first-team all-district honors in Texas District 21-6A. Blaylock’s speed is further evidenced by his track accomplishments, notably being part of a national record-setting 4×100 meter relay team with a time of 38.92 seconds.

Blaylock’s commitment enhances Oklahoma’s 2025 recruiting class, which now ranks among the top in the nation. He joins other highly touted recruits, including four-star quarterback Kevin Sperry, signaling the Sooners’ intent to assemble a formidable roster as they transition into the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Blaylock acknowledged the significance of this move, stating, “That’s where players play in the country, and I want to play against the best.”

Off the field, Blaylock hails from an athletic family. His father, Derrick Blaylock, played six seasons in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets. His brothers have also pursued collegiate football careers, with Travion Blaylock at Wisconsin and Taylen Blaylock at Sam Houston and later Lindenwood.

As Blaylock prepares for his senior season at Atascocita High School, he remains focused on his development and team goals. He expressed a desire to lead his team to a state championship, stating, “The state championship is the goal… We’re just going to keep working hard and get to that final goal of winning state.”

In summary, Tory Blaylock’s commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners represents a significant addition to their 2025 recruiting class. His combination of speed, versatility, and a strong football lineage positions him as a promising asset for the Sooners as they prepare to compete at the highest level in the SEC.
