WWE SmackDown Results: Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights From October 18

Welcome to Bleacher Report’s live coverage of WWE SmackDown on October 18.

Here is a look at what WWE hyped for this week’s show:

Roman Reigns confronts Solo Sikoa

Cody Rhodes addresses Gunther

Motor City Machine Guns make their debut

Let’s take a look at everything that happened on Friday’s episode of SmackDown.

SmackDown opened with five minutes of video packages before The New Bloodline came out to kick off the live show. Sikoa said Reigns and Jimmy Uso would acknowledge him by the end of the night.

Jey Uso’s music hit and he came through the crowd. He said he cares about Solo because they are still brothers. He told Solo to think about what he is doing to the family.

The segment ended with no fighting and no real resolution. It felt like WWE wasted the first 20 minutes of the show and got nothing done. Some of this will come into play later, but for now, the opening segment felt like filler.

A triple threat tag match took place with DIY, The Street Profits and Pretty Deadly to get the action going.

One member of each team was legal at all times, so the action was fast-paced with three men fighting and their partners occasionally getting involved.

Multi-team matches can often be chaotic and feel unfocused, but all three of these teams did an excellent job making sure the action was both exciting and easy to follow.

Montez Ford and Johnny Gargano each pinned a different member of Pretty Deadly, but since only one of them was legal, DIY was declared the winning team.

This was a fun finish to an entertaining bout. It’s great to see the tag team division get some attention while the titles are tied up in the Bloodline.

Ciampa should be more feared. Seeing Pretty Deadly act scared of him was great.

Pretty Deadly had some good double-team moves.

Montez Ford is ready. It’s time for a singles push.
