NEWS NOW: Nottingham Forest has appointed a 53-year-old manager to succeed Steve Cooper, who was fired by Marinakis once.

Pedro Martins is among Nottingham Forest’s shortlisted contenders to succeed Steve Cooper. After the midweek loss to Fulham, Reds owner Evangelos Marinakis has been considering his options.

On the other hand, Cooper led Forest to a valiant 1-1 draw with Wolves over the weekend. It becomes clear from the fallout that he is not under the sack right away.

 

On Friday night, Forest takes on Tottenham at City Ground. It appears that Cooper will have another opportunity to attempt to halt the current run of form.

Martins is on the shortlist of managers at Forest.
Martins is currently being considered as Cooper’s replacement at Forest, according to Greek publication Upopsi Sports. He is currently Al-Gharafa SC’s manager in Saudi Arabia.

Martins collaborated with Marinakis at Olympiacos for four years. Out of the 221 games he managed, he won 143 of them, earning three league titles and a win ratio that was just under 65%.

He was fired in August 2022, which makes this one interesting from the Forest’s point of view because Marinakis has already thrown him out of a club.
