just now: Steve Cooper is angry as Wolves’ manager makes a harsh point about Nottingham Forest.

Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Gary O’Neil reacts has his say on Wolves’ controversial equaliser against the Reds

In response to concerns from Steve Cooper, Gary O’Neil has informed Nottingham Forest that they “should have defended the throw-in better” for Wolves’ equalizer on Saturday.

The Reds manager was left fuming because he thought Forest ought to have been given a throw-in before Matheus Cunha scored. Following their 1-1 draw at Molineux on Saturday, Forest has now won just one of their previous 12 games.

When asked if he had any sympathy for Cooper over the decision, O’Neil admitted he did but also pointed out Forest’s poor defending for the goal.

Certainly, it’s not our throw-in. Indeed, a lot happens after the throw-in and doesn’t result in a goal, O’Neil said to Sky Sports.

Thus, it’s true that many small decisions in the game will have been made incorrectly. However, the officials misjudged the throw-in as it came from Nottingham Forest.

“But if he wants to watch some of the decisions that have gone against us this year in sort of more key areas then it’s just a throw-in in so yeah, they should defend the throw-in better.
