Kirk Cousins left the Minnesota Vikings to join a team that would value him more in the long run. However, when Michael Penix was selected by the Atlanta Falcons, Cousins may be moving on once more, this time to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys of USA Today K.D. Drummond, a wire journalist, discussed the Cowboys signing three-time Pro Bowler Dak Prescott to a deal.

Although the greatest free-agency splash in the league—a $100 million guarantee for Kirk Cousins—Atlanta used the eighth overall pick to acquire Washington quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. They’ll get along in 2024, but before he’s even taken a snap in the Peach State, Cousins becomes a trade candidate the following year, according to Drummond. “Cousins has a massive contract with a $100 million guarantee, but it doesn’t make him untradeable. If the [Falcons] dealt him in the upcoming offseason, they could actually free up about $2.5 million in 2025 and be relieved of all further responsibilities.
